Austin Richard Johnson, 38, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Akron, Ohio.
Born on October 26, 1987, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Austin brought light and laughter to those around him with his cheerful spirit and kind heart. Austin was a man who embraced life with energy and passion. He had a deep love for dirt bikes and motorcycles—not only riding them but also fixing and maintaining them. His mechanical skills extended to cars as well, making him the go-to person for friends and family when something needed repair. Whether it was tuning an engine or lending a hand with a project, Austin’s handy nature was matched only by his willingness to help others. Skateboarding and fishing were among his favorite pastimes, offering him both thrill and peace.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—being outdoors, feeling the wind on his face, or casting a line into the water. Animals held a special place in his heart, and he cherished time spent with pets as much as he did with people.
Family meant everything to Austin. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Jean Johnson; his daughters, Alexis Marshall and Josephine Runyon; his loving sister, Alyssa Renee Johnson; and his devoted girlfriend, Alicia Marshall. His presence will also be deeply missed by many other family members including nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends whose lives he touched.
Austin was preceded in death by his father, Fred Samuel Johnson III. Those who knew Austin remember him as someone who could brighten any room—even during difficult times. He made it a point to lift others up with humor and warmth, often putting their happiness before his own. His generous nature and infectious smile left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to meet him.
Though he left this world too soon, Austin’s memory will live on through the stories shared by loved ones and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
