Betty Ann Lowers (Collins), 77, of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Akron City Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1948 in Sutton, West Virginia, grew up in Brush Valley, Pennsylvania, graduated from United High School and moved to Ohio at the age of 18. She retired from Hygienic Corporation in 2016. After retirement she devoted her time and love to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for her loving nature, Sunday lasagna dinners that brought the whole family together, her giving personality and the fact nobody could get to a slot machine faster than her. She built a home filled with laughter, kindness, and love for her family.
Betty is survived by her; children Tammy (Chris) Surrarrer; Shirley Lynn (Michael) Lohr and Jerry (Brandy) Rittenour; grandchildren Michael Greathouse Jr.; Cory (Heather) Marshall; Courtney (Jordan) Paolini; Tiffany (Mitch Stubbs) Rittenour; Anthony (Ryan) Rittenour; Great-grandchildren; Brandon, Jenna, Keegan, Ryder, Michael, Walker, Oscar, Hayden, Brylee, Olivia, Aria, Ava, Aspyn, Kamden, Karson & Landry all of Akron and surrounding areas; sisters; Patricia (Robert) Mehalic; Diana (Joseph) Plivelic; brother; Jerry (Robin) Hammack of Indiana, PA. Any many, many other family members & friends that loved and will miss her dearly. Betty was met at heaven’s gates by her grandmother Arminta Collins; Mother; Virginia Hammack; Brother; Joseph Hammack; granddaughters; Crystal Greathouse, Samantha Greathouse; Aunt Thelma Jean Mardis.
