Brenda R. (Pickard) DeBaun
July 20, 1947 – November 4, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Brenda DeBaun who courageously battled cancer. She was 78 years old.
Brenda was born in Westlake, New York, and grew up in Ellington, New York. A lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, she carried her passion for the team wherever she lived. Over the years, Brenda made her home in Jamestown and Buffalo, NY; Pittsburgh and Warren, PA; Hollywood and Pompano Beach, FL; Akron, OH; and finally North Canton, Ohio.
On July 9, 1990, Brenda married Robert DeBaun, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion.
At Iacomini’s Restaurant, a beloved Akron institution, Brenda founded the “Upstairs Club,” leading it from conception to daily operations and establishing it as a hub for the local business community. For many years thereafter, she excelled in planning, opening, consulting, and managing restaurants, leaving a lasting mark on the hospitality industry.
Brenda’s talents extended far beyond her career. She excelled at golf, cooking, baking, sewing, and countless crafts. A gifted mentor, she generously shared her skills with many generations. Always devoted to her community, she led Girl and Boy Scout troops, coached girls’ softball, created costumes for theatre productions, and managed numerous golf tournaments.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Yeager, Jami (Jim) Obermeyer, Bob Wadsworth, and Jack (Shellie) Wadsworth; her grandchildren Liberty Madison, Reneé (Jason) Wentz, Elizabeth (William) Brand, Jack (Ashley) Wadsworth, Josh (Alix) Wadsworth, Payton (Jakob) Geier, Andrew Wadsworth, and Jeanette (Tim) Lee; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Mervin Pickard and Norma Iacomini; her daughter, Robin Madison; her brother, Dennis Pickard; and many dear friends and loved ones.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Mercy Medical Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank, honoring Brenda’s lifelong spirit of generosity.
Brenda will be remembered for her sense of humor, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
