Cammie “Teray” Hammond, a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She was born on December 14, 1967, and entered eternal rest on February 12, 2026.
Cammie graduated from East High School. and went on to dedicate her life to caring for others. She worked in multiple nursing facilities as a nurse’s aide, where her compassion and patience touched countless lives. Helping people was never just a job to her—it was her calling.
She was known for her strength, her humor, and her generosity. Cammie loved spending time with the people she cherished most. She enjoyed watching crime shows, playing the lottery, taking peaceful walks around the park, and having genuine, heartfelt conversations. Her love was warm, welcoming, and constant. She gave wise advice, comforting hugs, and her presence whenever it was needed. Her daughter will always remember the many times she came by just to share a hug and remind her she was loved.
Cammie is now reunited with her beloved mother, Vicki Hammond, and her cherished son, Dennis Hammond
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Ivy Hammond (Richard Austin); grandsons Richard I. Austin and Raiden I. Austin; siblings Carl Hammond, Carmen Hammond, Chelaise (Hammond) Burton, and Adam Hammond; special close friends Linette Pridgen, Elvira Evans, Shemon Lowery, and Marcella Hosch; and a host of relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Cammie’s life was a reflection of kindness, quiet strength, and unconditional love. Though her absence leaves a deep ache in our hearts, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

A Poem for Cammie
You are the hush in morning light,
The warmth that wraps us late at night.
A gentle voice we still can hear,
In quiet moments, you are near.
In every hug we give away,
In words of love we choose to say,
In laughter shared and tears we cry,
Your living memory passes by.
You walk beside us, soft and true,
In all the good we try to do.
Not lost to time, not gone apart—
You live forever in our hearts.
