Carol Joy Gardner left this world on February 14, 2026, but the love she gave and the lessons she shared will remain with us forever.
Born on December 28, 1943, in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Carol graduated from Rootstown High School and Bohecker’s Business College. She married the love of her life, John David Gardner, on December 29, 1964, in Glasgow, Montana.
To know Carol was a blessing. She had a remarkable way of making a big impression on everyone who met her. She believed deeply in showing up for others, and she lived that belief every single day. That devotion is the legacy she leaves in all of us.
Carol was the heart of her family. She remembered every birthday, celebrated every victory, and held us through our hardest moments. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering presence shaped the lives of all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Cordelia Oberholtzer, and her husband, John Gardner. She is survived by her daughters, Renee (Michael) of Stow and Natalie (Terrell) of Wesley Chapel, Florida; her twin sister, Linda Hurst; best friend and sister in-law, Vicki (Mark) Gardner; her ten beautiful grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and many special nieces and nephews who will carry forward her compassion and her love.
Carol’s life was defined by service to others. She gave freely, without expectation, and cared for anyone in need. Her kindness wasn’t something she offered—it was who she was. She was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of the Ravenna Church of Christ.
We invite friends and loved ones to join us in honoring her life for a memorial on Saturday, March 7th, services at 11:00 am and lunch immediately following at the Ravenna Church of Christ, 3897 Summit Street, Ravenna, Ohio.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for every moment we shared with her.
