Carole Dee Capozzi

Carole Dee Capozzi, née Barnett, of Madison Ohio, exchanged blows with heart and lung disease as long as she could.  Sadly, she passed away at the age of 74 on Feb 10th, 2023. Enveloped in love by her doting husband, Michael Capozzi, and beloved daughters, Megan Capozzi-Smith and Amy Capozzi.

She entered and exited life with zest, zeal, and undying determination. Her parents, Bill and Margaret Barnett, held the same quick humor and tongue. She never said no to anything or anyone. She was always ready to give of herself, whether that was her time, her energy, or most importantly, her love.

As a nurse of 35 years, she was a fierce patient’s advocate. She was always to go toe-to-toe with doctors or insurance companies, especially when she felt passionate about something or someone! As a wife, she was filled with adoration and bliss towards Michael, her forever sweetheart. As a mother, she was more willing like a best friend.  A ride or die.  A little “Thelma and Louise”!  As a friend, she sprang into action, helping with gardening tips, hemming clothes, or making jewelry for gifts.  She was renowned for her ability to replicate any recipe and make it a tad bit better, a self-taught gourmet chef.  Her meals were curated with love and years of effort, that led you to beg for more! After retiring, she explored new hobbies regularly and enjoyed weekly card matches with her old cronies. In the end, she cherished her long talks with her 3 grandsons and dreamed of what life would be like for them.

She was a stubborn angel (the BEST kind), who always intended to get better. She will be missed beyond words and remembered famously by her grandchildren, Caden Smith, Brendon, and Reilly Schrock, her sister Sharon (John) Lang, and her brother Tom Barnett. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever be family, will all miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held in April, with details to be announced by the family, at a later date.
