Carolyn Jean Hoffman

Carolyn (Carole) Jean Hoffman, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, after a short illness.                     

She was born on December 24, 1935, in Akron, Ohio to Raymond and Frances (Olas) Zarle and graduated from South High School in 1953.  Carole married husband Richard Frank Hoffman on August 19, 1955, and they were married nearly 60 years before his passing in 2015.  She was a long-time member of New Horizons Christian Church.  Prior to the passing of Rich, they enjoyed traveling, cruising, square dancing, playing cards, golfing, drinking coffee and watching the birds from their patio, trips to the casino and spending time with family and dear friends.     

Carole is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and son David Hoffman, brothers Raymond and Donald, and sister-in-law Elizabeth.  She is survived by her daughters Peggy Price (Dale) and Jean Herhold (Larry Swab), daughter-in-law Cathy Hoffman, son-in-law John Herhold, and grandchildren Matthew Price, Jennifer Seagram (Phillip), Jessica Penedo (Jose), Julia Herhold (DeQuann Thompson) and David Hoffman Jr.    

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Pebble Creek Healthcare Center.  We appreciate all their care and kindness.  

Per Carole’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation.  Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
