Carrie Catherine Cole, 80, went home to be with the Lord February 1, 2024 after a battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1943 in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of the late James and Carrie Johnson. Carrie was a member of Lakeview Lighthouse Church. Her husband Bud referred to her as “The best woman in the world.” She will always be remembered as woman who was devoted to her faith, her family, and her dogs. Carrie was filled with love, life, and laughter. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts, bingo, online video games and cooking for her family. She also had an ornery and sassy side to her as she disliked interruptions. Carrie and Bud lived in Florida for 15 years, but she wanted to be closer to family and they moved back to Ohio. In addition to her parents, Carrie is preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Kurtz on July 14, 2017; sisters Barbara Mozer on December 12, 2010, and Phyllis Watson on October 21, 2013; and her brother James Johnson at a young age. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Harold C. “Bud” Cole Sr.; sons Richard (Stephanie) Shackleford, and Roy (Lynn) Brumley; step-children Georgette Brown, Bud (Jackie) Cole Jr., Ida (Jeff) Westfall, Scott (Cathy) Cole, Joe (Tracy) Cole, Victor Cole, and Violet (Dan) Mayhle; son-in-law Larry Kurtz; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her dogs Wrigley and Trixie. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Lakeview Lighthouse Church (1065 Kubler Trail), where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Dwayne Ray will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
