Cynthia J. Loue, 88, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
A daughter of the late Fleming and Placida (McCarthy) Boatwright, she was born on January 23, 1938, in Akron, Ohio.
A lifelong resident of Akron, she began her career at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company as a secretary in the billing department, where she met her beloved husband, Carl. After raising her children, she devoted many years to childcare, a role she cherished deeply until her retirement.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — crocheting, crossword puzzles, baking, tending to flowers (especially wildflowers), and watching cooking programs and classic western television shows, with The Andy Griffith Show holding a special place among her favorites.
Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who found her greatest happiness in caring for her family, raising her children, and spending precious time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Patty Thomas, Carole (Douglas) Houze, Kevin Loue, and Elisa (Charles) Wilson; grandchildren, Terence Cannon, Heather (Mark Cox) Puckett, Melissa (Austin) Gill, Melanie Houze, Emily Loue, William Wilson, and Shelby Wilson; great grandchildren, Alexys Puckett, Nolyn Puckett, Waylon Cox, Aubree Cannon, Annistyn Cox, Conor and Sophie Gill, and Ellie Wilson; her good neighbors, Jo and Vic Walker, the many friends she met while at dialysis and her favorite waitresses, Kerry, Karen, and Hannah, at Fa-Rays.
Along with her parents, Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Carl Loue, in 2003.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Adams Mason Funeral Home 791 E. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44305. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
Miss Me but Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room - Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long. And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared - Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan - A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to friends we know - and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds - Miss me, but let me go!
