Dale Michael Cross

Dale Michael Cross, 53, passed away on March 19, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. Born on March 22, 1971, in Akron, he was a lifelong resident of the community he loved.

A graduate of Ellet High School’s class of 1989, Dale was known for his kind spirit and unwavering friendship. He had a heart of gold and was a friend to all who knew him. His passion for music, especially the Grateful Dead, was a defining part of his life. Whether attending concerts or simply enjoying the music with friends, he found joy in every note. Dale also had a love for collecting novelty toys, a hobby that reflected his playful nature and appreciation for the unique.

Dale is survived by his son, Gavin M. Cross; his brothers, Gibson McMaster and Patrick Cross; and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary June Fretz; his father, Gibson McMaster; his mother, Pamela Fretz McMaster; and his aunt, Vicky Fretz Dague.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18th to honor Dale’s memory. Details regarding time and location will be announced at a later date.
