Daniel (Dan) Jatich, 95, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2024.
Dan was born in Akron, Ohio on June 16, 1928 to parents Voin and Maria Jatich and was the 9thof 10 children. He joins his parents and 6 brothers (Mike, Bill, Zeke, Milan, Pete, Walter) and sisters (Eva Ernst, Stella Jatich, Dorothy Beres) in a heavenly reunion.
Dan lived his whole life in the Akron area, raising his family in North Hill and later moving to Clinton, Ohio. Dan was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country in the Korean War as a radio mechanic.
Dan loved golfing, playing cards, the casino, dessert, and most of all, his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary, and a legacy of love in his family. Dan is survived by his six children, Mark (Janice) Jatich, Laura “Lori” Jatich, Dana (Scott) Moats, Lisa Holdt, Lynn (Jim) Anderson, and Nolen (Rachael) Jatich; eight grandchildren, Adam (Miranda) Jatich, Dan Jatich, Lauren Moats (Brian), Dylan Moats (Samantha), Megan Anderson, Ben Anderson (Nicole), Brandon Jatich, and Jack Holdt; and two great-grandchildren, Max and Owen Jatich.
The family wants to thank Summa Hospice and the wonderful care team for their diligence and care in Dan’s last days. Dan has chosen cremation and will be honored in a private celebration of life. If you wish to celebrate Dan’s memory, the family asks that you think of him in your next round of golf, trip to the casino, and as you spend time with your own loved ones.
