Dann W. Chase passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his sister and his daughter.
Dann was a free spirit and an incredibly gifted craftsman who used his hands and his heart, to create beautiful, lasting work wherever he went. He shared his master carpentry skills in many ways, gaining friends and employment all across the country. He also spent his time teaching the next generation of carpenters how to build stunning, well-built homes while being hardworking and dedicated.
Known for his sly wit, dry humor, unfailing generosity, and fierce sense of justice, Dann stood firmly in his beliefs and never hesitated to speak out against injustice. His life was one of bold decisions, quiet heroism, and deep love for those he cared about.
Dann was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Woodliff Chase, and his brothers, Denny and Rick Chase. He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Davis of Snow Camp, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon (Carrington) Davis of Eden, NC, and Hope Davis of Snow Camp, NC; his brother, David Chase of Stow, Oh; his sister, Marcie Yonker of Kent, Oh, and nine nieces and nephews, along with their children.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a boxer or dog rescue organization in his name—causes close to his heart.
