David Wayne Sammons

David W. Sammons age 67, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2023. He was born in Wilmington, DE on December 24,1955. David is a retiree of the Sheet Metal Local 33 Union in Youngstown where he worked for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing on Berlin Lake, building his Harley Davidson, and driving his dog Cocoa around on his golf cart. David loved his family and playing with his grandchildren. He is dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Christina Sommers, his parents Marvin and Mary Sammons, and sister Becky Barnwell.

David leaves to cherish his memory, wife Judi Sammons. Children  Michelle Warren, Matthew (Tiffany) Sammons, Stephanie (Zachary) Fletcher, and Ross (Lisa) Sommers. Grandchildren Caleb, Adalyn, Gracie, Shawn, Gabe, Maddie, Saddie,  Brinleigh, Preston, Claudia. Father-in-Law and friend Bob Iverson. Brothers Bernard (Nadine), Marvin, and Curtis (Maggie) Sammons. Sister-in-laws Dee (Dan) Rummell,  and Pam (Tony Thorne). And many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 2nd, 2023. Visiting from 11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m, Service to follow from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 pm, at Springfield Assembly of God, 1551 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312.
