Dennis C. Thayer

Dennis C. Thayer, 69, of Sawyerwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 4, 1957.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Scott Thayer; his mother, Jane Thayer; his brother, Kenneth Thayer; his daughter, Violet Thayer; his lifelong friend, Dave Bolyard; and his beloved dogs, Bear and Harley.

He is survived by his devoted soulmate, Debbie Thayer; his daughters, Crystal (Brad) Loar and Ashley Thayer; his brother, Scott Thayer Jr.; his grandchildren, Austin (affectionately known as “Elvis”), Autumn (affectionately known as “Raulhyde”), and Joey; as well as Shirley Tournoux, lovingly known as “The Golden Griddle.”

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He dedicated much of his life to restoring classic cars and worked as a certified mechanic. He found joy in riding motorcycles, going mudding, playing his guitar, and, most of all, spending quality time with his family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Summa Hospice team for their exceptional care and compassion during this time.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
