Derrell R. Hollis Jr.

Derrell R. Hollis Jr. passed away on July 12th, 2023, at the age of 59. He was born November 9th—"the same day the Berlin Wall fell”—in 1963. He was preceded in death by his father, Derrell R. Hollis Sr. He is survived by his wife, Tracey; his children, Ashley (Jeff), Daniel, and Jake; his mother, Martha; his sisters, Cindy and Debby; and his two grandchildren, Lily and Matty.

Derrell’s children were the joy of his life. He loved to take trips all over the world. “I’m not a tourist, I’m a traveler,” he would say. He was a free thinker, full of enthusiasm and always curious. He was fond of music, motorcycles, gardening, reading and learning, Euchre, his dogs, and breaking bread with friends and family. Derrell was a veteran of both the United States Navy, and the Army.

His family shares his love for travel. Derrell will be cremated, and his ashes spread across the Swiss Alps, according to his wishes. There will be no public services.
