With deep love and heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of our beloved matriarch, Donna Jo Johnson (Nee Perry), who entered eternal rest on November 15,2025. Surrounded by those that she loved most, she left peacefully, leaving behind a legacy that stretches across five generations.
Born on May 14,1939, Donna lived a life full of spirit, laughter, and unmistakable sass. She loved her bingo nights and family casino trips. She loved to watch Storage Wars and ate Pizzells like it was her job. Her dog Petie was her pride and joy. She was an avid doll collector, and no matter how many treasures she gathered over the years, her favorite was Snuggle, the well-loved teddy bear that slept by her side every night for the last 50 years. She was married three times in her lifetime, twice to the great love of her life Neal and she also shared a chapter of her life withRichard Smith. Her love story with Neal was one for the ages- their bond was a testament to second chances, endearing love, and a beautiful life shared deeply.
As the heart of the family, Donna's warmth and fierce love shaped the people we are today. She was honest and wonderfully herself-never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought- and always with that signature sass that we will forever miss.
Donna was proceeded in death by her parents Bertha and Joe Perry, husband Neal, second husband Richard Smith, siblings Marlene (Dan) Hale and James (Betty) Perry, and daughter Tonya (Kevin)Green.
Donna is survived by her children Donald Johnson, Monica (Ed) Brown, and Neal Johnson. Grandchildren Angie (Chuck) Zittle, Shawn Green, Brandon Ferrell, Heather (Chris) Doyle, Sara Brown, Jennifer Seeling, Jesse Johnson and Nikole Johnson. Great grandchildren Brittany (Shay) Sharp, Kelsey and CJ Zittle, Nathaniel (Caitlyn) Doyle, Alexis Corathers, Mikayla and Tyler Seeling, and Anthony Green. Great-great grandchildren Lucas, Landon and Avery Sharp, Penelope Powell and Luna Doyle each carrying forward her spirit, her stories and her love. Donna is also survived by special niece Mickie Swain and brother-in-law Hugh Johnson and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those loved ones who left before her.
