Dorothy May Stake

Dorothy May Stake, 88, passed away October 29, 2025 at home.  She was born December 11, 1936 the daughter of the late Gladys Green and Robert Ray.  Dorothy retired from Rubbermaid and served as a volunteer for hospice for more than 5000 hours.  She was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Louisville.  Dorothy will always be remembered as a go getter.  She was always laughing and in good spirits, unless someone cut her off on the road.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Alvin "Bud" Stake; children Debbie Wallis, Michael Wallis, and David Wallis; and granddaughter Angela Sims.  Dorothy is survived by children Carrie (Gary) Sims, Patricia Clites, Rebecca Stanich, and Dorothy (Keith) Heintz; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.  A memorial celebration of her life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Louisville (1910 Monter Avenue in Louisville).  Pastor Ron Mayberry will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Arrrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
