Edith Beatrice Lowden

September 13, 1940 — February 20, 2026

Suffield Township

In great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and Gigi on February 20, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Randolph, Ohio on Sept 13, 1940, to Robert and Agnes Klein, she was the youngest of 5 siblings. She grew up in Suffield and graduated from Suffield High School. She married Harold on May 27, 1967, raising 4 children and countless others as her own, with the same love and patience. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She supported all their activities.

Besides her family, her faith and service to the Catholic Church were unwavering, dedicating countless hours to organizations affiliated with the church. She was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8487, filling various roles of service for veterans and the community. She was an avid bowler, loved Scrabble, and played any type of card game with family or friends. She was always ready for a family vacation, with one bag packed and ready to go, and was up for any adventure along the way.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; parents, Robert and Agnes Klein; in-laws, Roy and Margaret Lowden; siblings, Louise (Joseph) Pasternak, Ruth Woolf, Eugene (Martha) Klein; Leroy Lowden, Betty (Red) Storey, Al Wilson, Sandra Dennis; and nephew, Mark Lowden.

She is survived by her children; Bill (Emilie), Steve (Michelle), Rudi (Mark), and Brian (Mandy). Her love knew no bounds. Alongside her children, she welcomed Greg (Kim) Klein, Gloria (Tim) Sisson, and Doug Klein with open arms after the loss of her brother, Eugene, and his wife, Martha, becoming a steady source of love, strength, and guidance in their lives.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Billy, Alexus (Derek), Kody (Kasey), Matt (Tayler), Cassidy (Billy), Levi, Elijah, Sierra (Garrett), Maverick, Elissa, Nevada, Quintin (Jessica) Aidin, Cooper, Addie, and Brevin; great-grandchildren, Paetyn, Cashton, Caleigh, Landon, Olan, Kolter, Emerson, Olive, and Kaden; sister, Rose (Dave) Horning; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lowden, Helen Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart; and many friends.

She was a true angel who left a positive example for her family to follow. She will never be forgotten, as her legacy will live on for many generations: to love completely, create memories often, say I love you and hug fiercely, spend time with family and friends, be a giver - above all, “live” with a servant’s heart.

We would like to thank Dr. Lenz, the hospital staff at Barberton Summa Hospital, her caregivers, and Crossroads Hospice for the quality and compassion she received while in their care.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 1st from 2-5pm at Adams Mason Funeral Home in Akron. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, March 2nd at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church Randolph with a celebration of life dinner after at the K of C Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Suffield Fire Department in her memory.
