Elizabeth Allen Greenwood

Elizabeth Allen Greenwood, 79, passed away on July 17, 2026. She was born on May 10, 1947, and grew up in Cazenovia, New York.

Elizabeth was a strong and independent woman with a feisty spirit and a generous heart. She had a natural way of making friends wherever she went and was always willing to help others. Later in life, she made Ohio her home, where she formed many lasting friendships. She cherished time with her family, especially during the holidays, and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

Known for her green thumb, Elizabeth had a true love for gardening. Friends and family often turned to her for help caring for their plants because she always seemed to know exactly what they needed. She also enjoyed cooking, watching wildlife, and cheering on the Cleveland Guardians and Cavaliers.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Molly Greenwood-Slack (Doug), Jennifer Magensky (Brian), and Sarah Flynn (Scott); grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dominic), Danielle, Dylan, Alec, Nolan, Nick, Maddie, Connor, and Delaney; great-grandchild, Dominic; sisters, Nancy Benedict (Loren) and Jean Brault (Brian); brother, Wally Allen (Kathy); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean W. Allen and Lois E. (Graham) Allen.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace House Akron.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Summa ER Team, T2 ICU Team, the Hospice Team for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided to Elizabeth.
