Garon David Thomas, 51, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2026.

Garon was known for his kindness, quick humor, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. A talented chef, he dedicated his life to food and hospitality, creating meals that brought people together and building community in every kitchen he worked in.

A proud graduate of Cincinnati State, Garon built a career doing what he loved most. Colleagues and friends remember him not only for his skill in the kitchen, but for his generosity, mentorship, and the easy laughter he shared with everyone around him.

Outside the kitchen, Garon loved punk music, cheering on the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Cavaliers, and, somewhat reluctantly, rooting for the Cleveland Browns.

Above all, Garon cherished his life with his wife, Stevi, his partner of 14 years and wife of 4. Their life together was filled with laughter, inside jokes, and a deep companionship that those around them could see and feel.

He is survived by his wife Stevi; his parents Pam and David Thomas; his sister Renee Samuels and her husband Lance; and his nephews Justin and Dylan.

He is also survived by his extended family who loved him dearly: Bill Weber, his father-in-law; sisters-in-law Kristina Perkins and Heather Bowen; their husbands Brian Perkins and Todd Bowen; and his nieces and nephew Logan, McKenna, Isabella, and Willow.

A celebration of Garon’s life will be held on March 22 at Fiddlestix, a place he often described as his second home, where friends, family, and colleagues will gather to remember him.

Garon had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he was. Whether through a meal he cooked, a joke he told, or simply the easy way he connected with people, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the laughter he brought into the lives of those around him.
