Gary Stewart

Gary Stewart, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. He was born on September 28, 1952, to the late "Bill" and Frances Stewart.

Gary was the devoted husband of Gail Stewart, with whom he shared nearly 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, family, faith, and unwavering support for one another. He is also survived by his beloved son, Dr. Daniel Stewart; his brother, Mike (Lisa) Stewart; his sister, Chris (Bob) Scheppan; his sister-in-law, Lynn Flory; his brother-in-law, Lewis (Kim); his nephews, Kyle, Eric, and Adam; his nieces, Niki (Grant) and Randi; as well as many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Frannie Heckman.

A 1971 graduate of Springfield High School, Gary developed a strong work ethic at an early age, beginning as a paperboy in his youth. He went on to dedicate 30 years to Air Enterprises, where he served as a respected foreman. Gary took great pride in his work and was known for his attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to help others.

Gary found joy in staying busy and creating things with his hands. He enjoyed working with both metal and wood and took pride in bringing his ideas to life. He was also a true car enthusiast who always took pride in owning and caring for a beautiful car. Some of Gary's happiest moments were spent golfing, sailing, camping, and making memories with his family. He also enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians.

Those who knew Gary will remember him as a hardworking, loyal, and incredibly detailed man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was always ready with a joke or a lighthearted comment that could brighten someone's day. His kindness, craftsmanship, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Gary was a faithful and devoted member of Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown, where his faith remained an important part of his life.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Gaby and Clay of Crossroads Hospice for the extraordinary care, compassion, kindness, and support they provided to Gary and his family during his final days. Their dedication brought comfort during a difficult time and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.

A celebration of Gary's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown in Gary's memory.
