George Morris Lee, aged 92, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on August 9, 2025. George was born on September 2, 1932 in Gallipolis, OH to Floyd and Frances Lee. George graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1950, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951. George served a total of 23 years, serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam war. He retired as a EM1 First Class Electrician in San Diego, CA. During his time in the military, George met the love of his life, Loraine Lee. They were united in holy matrimony in 1953 and were blessed with two children. When reflecting on the highlights of his life, George would always mention his faith in God, his cherished marriage, his beloved children, and his adored grandchildren.
Elder Lee was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather who lived a life marked by integrity and dedication. His steadfast faith was evident in his 36 years of service at Gateway Ministries of Akron, Inc., where he faithfully served as an elder. A pillar of the congregation, Elder Lee was a source of wisdom and encouragement to all who knew him. His uplifting words, guiding counsel, and inspiring example truly embodied a faithful servant of God and a committed member of the Kingdom of God.
Preceding him in death, his father Floyd Lee, mother Frances Lee, wife Loraine Lee, Brothers, Floyd Lee Jr., Albert, Thomas, Alonzo, William, Daniel, Sisters, Mary Frances, Florine Gray, Betty McDowell, Clara McDowell, and Daughter-in-law Julia Lee.
George leaves to cherish his memory to his sisters Alice Burton of North Carolina, Dorothy(Lamont) Atkinson of Florida, loving daughter, Loranette(Elijah) Walker, Son, Michael Lee, Grandchildren, Renea(Rick) Grigsby, Demetria Johnson, Scharmaine(Eric) Small, LeAndrea Wright, LeAndrew(Diamond) Wright, David Lee, Timothy(Precious) Lee, Loriann Lee, 22 Great-Grand Children, 2 Great Great-Grand Children a host of other special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
