Akron

Georgia A. Puzakulics, 77, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5, 2026.

She retired from the United States Postal Service in 2004 after 39 years. She was known as the HR Specialist who would get things done, and she’d always get them done right.

Georgia liked her days simple. Give her the back porch, a James Patterson book, and the sun in the sky, and she was happy. If you sat outside with her long enough, you’d hear her whistle to the cardinals and hear them call back.

Georgia was the oldest of 14 children. She relished her role as a big sister, looking after her younger siblings. She always arranged the family get-togethers for holidays and planned backyard cookouts in the summertime. In the later years, she became the glue that held the family together. To Kristen, she was a devoted mother, and to Mackenzie and Kendall she was Nana. Her family was the greatest joy in her life.

She was an avid fan of Cleveland baseball and stuck with them through everything: the good years, the bad years, the name she liked, and the name she didn’t like, the way real fans do.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Maureen Puzakulics; sister, Christine; and brothers, James, Michael, Robert, and Edward. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Joe Davis; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kendall, and Joey; sister, Ann; brothers, David (Nancy), Paul, Stephen, Mark (Shelley), Peter, Thomas (Dawn), and Joseph; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

We’ll miss her out on that porch. We’ll miss her whistle. Mostly we’ll just miss her. Go Tribe!

There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place.
