Glenn E. Fertig II

January 11, 1952 – May 30, 2025

Glenn Elmer Fertig II, 73 of Kent passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Flora Fertig, his 1st wife Mary E. (Overby), a grandson, Glenn “Little Glenn” Fertig, IV, and a great granddaughter Savanna.

Glenn leaves his wife of 10 years Theresa Kordinak-Fertig to tend to his garden and to feed the birds.

Surviving are his children, Glenn (Katharine) Fertig, III, of Ravenna, Ohio; Toni (Tom) Kratofil of Rockingham, N Carolina; Russell Fertig of Kent, Ohio and Justin Fertig of Ohio.

Grandchildren, Cassandra, Bridgett, Cody, Emily, Miranda, Tiffany, Jesse, Austin, Russell, Carter, Dillon, Sierra, Joshua, Riley, Seth, Lindsey, and Leah.

Great grandchildren, Ava, Kaylie, Safiera, Savina, Sahlila, Salias, Emelia, Glenna, Maria, Olivia, and Ellie, Orion, Haley, Elijah, Magnolia, Georgia, Rylin, Paisley and Lilah.

Siblings Louise Broyles, Tom (Deanna), David (April), Andrew (Edie), Cathleen (Mark) Clark, and Leonard (Dawn), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Glenn fought alcohol for many years until 1980. Glenn’s involvement in the program helped to gain his sobriety and helped others to gain theirs.

Glenn lived and died on his terms. He enjoyed gardening, boating and taking his grandkids fishing.

He will be missed by all who knew him for the rest of their lives. The world is certainly a little quieter and duller without him in it.

To honor Glenn and his life there will be a service at 2:00 on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Lake Brady United Methodist Church, 1995 Brady Lake Rd, Kent.

Following the service there will be a celebration of life with food and refreshments.
