Herbert Doyle Smith

Herbert “Doyle” Smith, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 after several months of declining health. Born on December 6, 1937 in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he is at peace now and will be greatly missed! The son of a Baptist minister, Doyle lived in ten states, worked in 22 states and visited all but one. He was a resident in Ohio for the past 30 years. Over the course of his life, Doyle was a CPA, corporate auditor, hospital controller, real estate agent and, most recently, an author of four books. Doyle was a member of MENSA, International Society for Philosophical Enquiry (ISPE), an Army veteran, a Mason and a Shriner.He was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church in Canton, Ohio for many years where he was a former member of the choir and a former lay reader.He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey E. Smith of Dalton, OH, and his three children: Russell (Rusty) Smith, Wendi Keith and David Smith all of North Carolina. Doyle was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Murry of North Carolina.
