Imogene Jones, affectionately known as Genie, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of honesty, warmth, and unwavering human connection. Genie lived with a deep sense of faith and service, faithfully sharing kindness with everyone she met. She proudly wore the title of an unbaptized publisher within the Jehovah’s Witnesses, embodying a commitment to truth, integrity, and outreach in her own unique way.

Genie was a gifted conversationalist who could talk to anybody and met no strangers. Her quick wit, infectious humor, and generous spirit brought light to friends, family, and countless others she encountered along the way.

In addition to her compassionate outreach, Genie was a devoted entrepreneur and caregiver. She owned and operated group homes for many years. Beginning in 1996, demonstrating remarkable leadership, compassion, and dedication to the welfare of residents. She also owned a Developmental Disabilities (DD) agency, Jones Residential Services, where she provided thoughtful, attentive care for people with special needs. Genie was, by all accounts, awesome in every aspect of her work, loving and protecting those who could not care for themselves. Her passion for helping others extended beyond professional roles into every interaction with family, friends, and the wider community.

In her latter days, Genie cherished a beautiful friendships with Betty (Kenny) Kempthorne. Gary (Renee) Prince also the brothers and sisters at the Greensburg congregation.

Genie is survived by Emmit Jones Sr., and their children to carry forward her memory with pride: Emmit R. Jones Jr. (NiYonna, Emmit, Josiah, Emmeliah) Autumn Jones (Dacardis and Adayah) Bonus Son Andre Mcmeans (Avaughni, Armani, Alivia) Bonus Daughter LaCola Franklin (Karis) Christian, Karis) Genie’s siblings also remember her with affection: Beulah Ford (Tracy Bowen (Stacy), April Averiett, and Demetrius Felder) Louise Tucker (Shabrina Calmese (Rico), Aaron Tucker) Bertha Lovett-Smith (Carl and Demetrius Lovett ) John H. Harris (John, Christopher, Jackie, Taylor Harris) W. Ruth Works-Brown(Sylvester) (Toni and Ben Works) and a host of other relatives

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Harris and mother, Willie Mae Harris, as well as her brothers Henry Harris Jr., Charlie Harris survived by, Children: (Myra, Louise, Charesse, Denise, and Charile Harris Jr.) Fred Harris survived by, Children: (Melody, Shalathia Williams, Fred Jr., Coren, Camisha, Christian, Jamal, and Henry-Rainy Harris) And her niece Sandy Ford.

She lived fully, loved deeply, and touched countless lives. Genie’s spirit will remain in the laughter she shared, the conversations she sparked, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her.
