Jack Adams

On July 27, 1953, the world welcomed Jack “Papal” Adams in Akron, Ohio—a man whose life was a testament to hard work, laughter, and love. Jack passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loved ones. Jack was a proud father to Jesse Adams [Felicia and Breanne Adams] and Jacqualyn Adams. His family meant everything to him, and he was especially devoted to his grandchildren: Sophia Adams, Xavier Brown, Jesse Adams Jr., Callie Adams, Khloe Adams, and Amelia Adams.

Jack was known to all as a man of unwavering rigor and discipline, qualities that complemented his hard-headed, yet endearingly stubborn personality. His honorable and trustworthy nature made him a respected figure among friends and family, and his rowdy sense of humor brought endless laughter into their lives. A passionate supporter of his son’s racing career, Jack loved spending time at Barberton Speedway, cheering Jesse on from the stands. Whether it was playing board games like Yahtzee or sharing stories with his grandkids, Jack’s warm presence brought joy to every moment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Grof-Adams and Homer Adams, step father Frank Grof and is survived by his sister, Carla D’Eramo and her husband, Tony. A proud patriarch, Jack found his greatest joy in the laughter of his grandchildren, and his legacy will live on through them. He will be remembered for his love of family, his fiery spirit, and his unshakable sense of humor.
