James Robert Cain

James R. Cain 43 years old passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He lost his short 3 week battle with multifocal glioblastoma.

James (JR ) grew up in Barberton and a 2000 graduate of Barberton High School.

He was a much loved husband, father, PopPop, brother, friend and believer of Jesus Christ our Savior.

He is proceeded in death by his father Charles “Chuck” Cain and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife of almost 9 years Marsha Cain, son James Cain II, daughters April Lesher, Caitlyn Shimer (Jon), Hailea Dryer(Evan), Rosalee Daugherty(Zach), and Baylee Daugherty. Adopted daughter Britney Daugherty, a special kiddo William Lesher “JuneBug”, his 5 grandkids Mac, Novi, PJ, Cam and Lay. His loving mother Diane Cain(Matthew), sister Michelle Gill, brothers Mike and Shaun Cain. Several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. His longtime best friend Lisa McGhee. Best friend Garner Strain and many others.

James loved his family, riding his Harley and ministering to others. He has touched so many lives in a positive way while being a servant of the Lord.

We will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday 6/21/25 at 2pm at Akron Bible Church 783 Brown St, Akron Ohio 44311
