James E. Rankl

James E. Rankl, 83, passed away December 22, 2025.  Jim was born January 12, 1942 in Canton, the son of the late Edward and Virginia Rankl.  He will always be remembered as an honest, quiet and loyal man.  If you friend of Jim's, you were a friend for life.  Jim was an avid drag racer.  He worked for 28 years at George Waikem Ford and another 24 years at Rankl & Ries Motorcars in Canton.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Jimmy Rankl Jr.  Jim is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Janet Rankl; son Ty Rankl; daughter Tami Rankl; son Jonathan "Jon" Rankl; daughter Jamilynn Rankl; grandchildren Conner, Gavin, Oaklynn, Amelia, and Elliana; as well as his sister Carol Zbinden.  Special thanks to all of his racing and work families!  A celebration of life will be 4:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Canal Grill (2223 Locust Street South in Canal Fulton).  In lieu of flowers, any contributions to your local food bank or to assist the homeless would be greatly appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
