John Edward Amtsberg

John Edward Amtsberg, 86, passed away April 24, 2026.  He was born August 13, 1939 in Cleveland, the son of the late Walter and Elsie Amtsberg.   John will always be remembered as fun gentleman with a good sense of humor.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was candy maker for May Company and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 30 years service.  In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen Amtsberg; son Michael Amtsberg; as well as his granddaughters Emily, Chelsie, and Macy.  Per his wishes cremation will take place and his family will celebrate his life privately.  Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186.
