Stow

John “Jack” Austin Fronk, 92, went home to be with the Lord on 4/13/2025. Born in Cherry Tree, PA, Jack was a resident of Stow, OH for more than 65 years.

He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company during the time HQ was located in Akron, Ohio until his retirement in 1981. Known to many friends and family as simply “Grandpa”, due to his incredible kindness and beautiful soul. He was well known for telling fascinating stories from his life as well as telling the best jokes. Jack was an avid sportsman with a passion for hunting and would spend much of his free time as a member of the Ten High Camp with his sons, grandson and other family and friends in Punxsutawney, PA. He was also a proud, long-time Free Mason and member of the Tadmor Shrine in Akron.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret “Peg”, and his sons Robert “Joe” and Larry. He is survived by his grandchildren, Tricia Butts (Chris), Michelle McVicker (Bill) and Jesse Fronk (Emily). Also, six great-grandchildren, Austin, Michael Butts, Addison, Oliver, Jack Fronk, and Liam McVicker, whom he adored, and they adored him. Jack also has many nieces, nephews and cousins remaining in the area and all over the country.

Grandpa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. To know him was to love him. He truly touched the lives and provided inspiration to so many. He made the most of his 92 years and the world is less without his shining light. His wings were ready for him but the hearts of all he touched were not. We know you will be with us always. We love you Grandpa.

Jack requested no formal services. Family and friends are encouraged to honor Jack’s memory in a manner that is meaningful to them.
