Joyce A. Crumrine

Joyce A. Crumrine, 77, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on August 21, 2026, from pneumonia. Born October 6, 1948, Joyce grew up in Green Township and made her home in Akron.

Joyce lived an adventurous life. She served her community for many years as a mail carrier, as a registered nurse in the Summa Hospital System, and as a paramedic. Away from work, her spirit of adventure carried her into the sky as an experienced skydiver and onto the Appalachian Trail, which she hiked solo.

Above all, Joyce was a kind and gentle woman who cared deeply for animals and for the people around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Crumrine, and by her beloved daughter, Julie A. Brown. She is survived by her siblings, Charles (Christine) Crumrine, Jacqueline Lee, and Virginia Black, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at a later date. A private celebration of life will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Julie Ann Brown Celebration of Life Endowment Fund at Akron Children's Hospital.
