Wooster

Joyce Victoria Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 78 peacefully at her home in Wooster, Ohio. She was born on August 14, 1945, to loving parents Irene and Paul McCaudy in Hinckley, Ohio, and grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.

Joyce was married to the love of her life, Tom Johnson, for 32 wonderful years. Together, they shared a passion for adventure, embarking on countless motorcycle trips across the country. They also nurtured a home filled with love, raising many cherished cats and dogs. Their kitchen was a hub of joy where they bonded over cooking and baking delicious meals together. Her lasagna, potato salad, cheesecake and pies will most certainly be missed by those who have had the pleasure of tasting her cooking.

Professionally, Joyce dedicated 29 years of her life to Rubbermaid before retiring. Post-retirement, she found solace and joy in cultivating her garden, which bloomed with the most exquisite flowers. Her green thumb and love for gardening were evident to all who visited her home.

In addition to her husband Tom, she is survived by daughter Kelly Hawk, son Scott Busson (Beth), stepdaughter Tomma Bishop (Art), and stepson Todd Johnson (Tammy). Her grandchildren, Robbie Hawk, Megan Hawk, Nicholas Busson, Kevin Busson, Greg Busson, Shiloh Johnson, and Trenton Johnson, all of whom brought immense joy and pride into her life. She is also survived by her siblings Carol Ross, Shirley Bogdan (John) Paul McCaudy (Ruthy), her lifelong best friends Bonnie Busson, Diane Keltz and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and son Billy Busson, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on August 24, 2024 at the Barn Restaurant in Smithville, Ohio at 11:30 am. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her memory and the impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.

Rest in peace, Joyce. Your legacy of love and motherly intuitive advice will continue to inspire us all.
