Judy Ann Green

May 21, 1957 — March 24, 2026

Judy Ann Green (Haines), 68, passed away on February 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Euclid, Ohio, Judy was raised in Eastlake and spent the past 20 years living in Denmark, Ohio, alongside her husband at their peaceful retirement home nestled in the woods.

Judy was the beloved wife of James Green; devoted mother of Sharada Haywood (Dan Haywood); and proud grandmother of Xzavior Yates, who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her son, Lorne Green, who passed in infancy.

She is also survived by her mother, Virginia Haines of Montville, Ohio; her sisters, Loretta Stough (Ted) and Donna Ritchie (Chris); and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Haines, and her sister, Diane Boyd (Gary).

Before retiring, Judy worked as a baker and cake decorator with the local Bakers Union, where she shared her creativity and passion for bringing joy to others through her work. At home, she continued that passion—always baking, trying new recipes, and happily serving as the family’s unofficial chef, with her husband, daughter, and grandson as eager taste-testers.

Judy was deeply family-oriented, and nothing meant more to her than time spent together—especially during the holidays, which she loved. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment of family gatherings.

She found peace and happiness in nature, particularly in the woods surrounding her home and on walks through local parks. Some of the most cherished memories include hiking together and the backyard campouts she shared with her grandson when he was younger.

Judy was a beautiful soul—kind, caring, and compassionate—but also strong-willed and unafraid to stand up for what was right. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a deep love for animals, and a special bond with her beloved dog, Sable, and her daughter’s dog, Ludo—her devoted “personal nurse”—who was always by her side, keeping a watchful eye to make sure her daughter and nurses stayed on top of her care.

Her strength was unmatched. For over 20 years, she faced the challenges of multiple sclerosis with resilience and grace, never complaining and never giving up. Even in the face of her final illness, she remained incredibly strong—an inspiration to all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will instead focus on celebrating her life and the many memories she created with those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or planting a tree in her memory.

Judy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the love she gave so freely.
