Julia Roth Evans Kirby

September 5, 1950 — May 23, 2025

Akron

Julia (Evans) Kirby, 74, passed into her eternal rest on Friday, May 23, at her home in Akron, OH. She was born in Parsons, WV, in 1950 to Leonard and Evelyn (Cade) Evans.

Julia was a 1968 graduate of East High School. She was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Visitation of Mary Parish, Annunciation Church in Goodyear Heights and served as Secretary for St. Anne’s Guild. She enjoyed keeping busy by participating in multiple other committees in support of the church and surrounding community. She was a longtime cherished employee at Metalico Akron-Annaco, and in recent years she worked as a receptionist at Vitalia Senior Living in Stow. In her spare time Julia loved a good cup of coffee, reading, watching classic TV westerns and game shows, debating the outcome of Judge Judy, and collecting dolls.

The joys of Julia's life were her daughters, grandsons, and dogs. She is survived by her loving daughters Cassandra Kirby Hitchcock of Columbia, SC, and Kara Kirby of Fairlawn, OH; her son-in-law David Hitchcock; her grandsons Matthew, Brendan, Michael, and Evan; and grand-dogs Cooper and Darla Mae. She is predeceased by her parents Leonard and Evelyn (Cade) Evans; her former husband David E. Kirby; her brother Daniel; and her sister Sara.

A Funeral Mass in her remembrance will be celebrated on Monday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Visitation of Mary Parish, Annunciation Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Visitation of Mary Parish or Buckeye Bulldog Rescue.

Julia's warm smile and joyful laughter will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
