Julian Joseph Stumpo Jr.

Julian Joseph Stumpo Jr., affectionately known as “Jr.” or “Uncle Ju Ju,” was born on January 3, 1948, to Julian and Thoma Stumpo. A lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, Julian was proud to call Akron home. He retired from Akron City Hospital after many years of dedicated service.

Julian had a joyful spirit, a warm heart, and a love for life that touched everyone who knew him. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to football, and proudly cheered for his Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed watching movies, particularly old Westerns and films by Tyler Perry. His favorite movie was A Bronx Tale.

Above all, Julian treasured his family. He loved traveling, having fun, and creating special memories with the people he held dear. He could often be seen cruising through the neighborhood on his scooter, enjoying the outdoors and living life in his own unique way. He also loved making trips to Aldi to visit and spend time with “his girls,” who always held a special place in his heart. His laughter, personality, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Thoma Stumpo; his brother, Thomas Stumpo; his sisters, Laura Thompson and Patricia Close; his niece, Christina “Chrissy” Thompson; and his beloved fur nephew, Bubba.

He leaves to cherish his memory his special niece, Angelita Stumpo Kemp of Akron, Ohio; his special nephew, Daniel Kemp of Akron, Ohio; his niece & nephew Holly (his real favorite) & James Zehnder, of Mogadore, his fur niece, Nola; his sisters, Lucinda Stumpo of Akron, Ohio, and Phyllis Mervine of Ocala, Florida; and his special friend and apartment manager, Tiffany, whose friendship and kindness meant so much to him; along with other family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

At Julian’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
