Akron

June Renee McGraw, 71, lovingly known to her family as “Aunt Renee” and “Aunt Nay,” passed away on the morning of November 3, 2026. Hallie, whom she raised as a daughter, Hallie’s oldest daughter, Sandra “Itty”, and another beloved niece, Zada, whom she raised from six months old into adulthood, stayed by her side through her final night.

Renee had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which spread rapidly to her bones and brain. She wanted to keep fighting, but her body had grown tired. Her strength and her love for her family will always be remembered.

Renee spent her working life in construction with her brother’s business, McGraw Home Improvement. Her years of hard work were another reflection of the strength and determination her family knew so well.

Although Aunt Nay never had children of her own, she helped raise many. She gave generations of children a home, guidance, and a mother’s love. To those she raised, the word “aunt” could never fully describe who she was—she was Mom, comfort, home, and someone they could always turn to.

Her caring heart extended to animals, too. She took in wildlife, including raccoons and squirrels, giving care to creatures that needed her help. Caring for others was simply part of who she was.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Zada McGraw; her brothers, Ralph (Becky) McGraw, Darrell (Sue) McGraw, and Fuzzy; her sisters, Joyce and Carol McGraw, “Tuti” Shirley Toop, and Barb Berecek; her nieces, Sandy McGraw, Tammy Claar, and Tonya Meier; her nephews, J.R. Darrell McGraw, Mikey Rouse, Ozzy Kalcic, and David Meier; and her great-niece, Carolyn Brittany Marie.

She leaves behind a large and deeply loved family, including her sister, Tammy Tonya Meier; brother-in-law, Dave Meier; brother, Everette; and her nieces, Missy (Rick) Bower, Renee McGraw, aka “Lil Nay Nay,” Jessica Meier (whom she also helped raise and who is also her daughter), Amanda Meier, Tiffany Meier, Leslie Rouse, and Tiffany Kalcic; and her nephews, Nick McGraw and Stevie Kalcic.

Among her cherished great-nieces and great-great-nieces, whom she lovingly called “her baby girls,” are Zada McGraw, Hallie McGraw Scott, Sandra “Itty” Smith, Ariel Smith, Sharon Smith, Cassidy Jade Dowdy, Melissa Scott, Bobbie Sue McGraw, Savannah McGraw, Stephanie McGraw, Samantha Bower, Haley Santy, Bella Zornes, Emily Condon, Morgan Scott, Mariah Scott, Maci Scott, Haylee, Abigail, Makayla, Aubrianna, Madelyn, Reagan, and Haley Goins.

Her beloved great-nephews and great-great-nephews include Kevin Claar, DJ (Katie) Claar, Mikey Claar, Raymond (Saundra) Scott Jr., Ricky (Nickie) and Lil Ricky Bower, Daniel Smith Jr., Greyson McGraw, Bradlee Condon, Michael Simone, Jacob, David, Bryant, Logan Bower, Owen Bower, Austin McGraw, Miles Scott, Myles Peoples, and Shane and Gavin Goins, and many, many other nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her best friends, Annie Dickon and Steve Berecek, and friends Robyn, Skylar, Candice and her little ones, and many more family members and friends whose lives were touched by her love.

A small, private viewing will be held for immediate family only. No public funeral service is planned. After her cremated remains are returned to the family, a celebration of life will be arranged, and details will be shared.

Above all, Aunt Nay will be remembered for her strength and how deeply she cared for everyone. Her love lives on in the children she raised, the generations she helped shape, and the countless memories her family will carry.

**Forever our Aunt Nay. Forever loved.**
