Kingsley Crowe, 98, originally of Alderville First Nation, Ontario, Canada, and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away on Thursday January 22, 2026
A son of Borden and Lucy (Simpson) Crowe, he was born on February 23, 1927.
Kingsley was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who dedicated his life to caring for his family. A lifelong lover of sports, Kingsley played hockey and softball and came to America to pursue his passion for baseball. His achievements on the field earned him induction into the Akron Baseball Hall of Fame, an honor of which he was deeply proud.
Beyond athletics, Kingsley was a successful business owner, operating American Roofing and Siding Company for over 50 years. Through his hard work and dedication, he built not only a respected business but also a legacy of providing for and supporting his family.
Despite his many accomplishments, Kingsley’s greatest joy came from time spent at home, visiting his hometown in Ontario, Canada, and being surrounded by those he loved most. He was a lifelong member of the Akron Baptist Temple and later attended City Church A.C., where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Kingsley is survived by his four children: Mike (Bobbie) Crowe, Jeff (Kathy) Crowe, Lisa (Brad Young) Crowe, and Lori (Kevin) Wingard; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sheila.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne Crowe; two sisters; and six brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at City Church A.C. 737 George Washington Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44312 on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ben Adams officiating.
