Larry Martin

Larry "Skip" Martin, 78, passed away after a battle with cancer on his birthday August 22, 2026.  Larry was born in Akron the son of the late Larry G. and Madeline Martin.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  After the war, Larry worked in auto body repair and he loved to help people with their needs.  Larry will always be remembered as devoted family man.  He would drop everything to spend time with his grandchildren.  In his free time, he loved to be outdoors.  You could find him bow hunting, fishing and drag racing.  Larry was well liked and will be sadly missed.  In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brother Kenny Martin, and sister Alice Martin.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Martin; son Skip (Gabi) Martin; daughter Jessica Martin; grandchildren Cody (Miranda), Ayden, Rainy, Kaia, and Atlas; great grandchildren Cameron and Madelyn; as well as his siblings Don, Leonard, Billy, Pam, Cheryl, and Vickie.  The family will receive friends 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street in Akron), where funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.  Larry will be laid to rest with military rites 9:45 AM Friday August 28, 2026 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
