LeAndrew Wright, born on November 8, 1958, in Ravenna, Ohio, unexpectedly departed this life on October 1, 2026. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the legacy he leaves behind will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
LeAndrew was the beloved son of James Edward Wright and Patricia Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Wright and Patricia Griffin; his beloved Big Moms, Alice Hawkins and Naomi Wilmington; his special auntie, Susan Lindsey; and his siblings, Curtis Wright and Lisa Love. The love and bonds he shared with his family were an important part of his life’s story and helped shape the man he became.
A proud graduate of Ravenna High School, LeAndrew went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1978 to 1980. His final duty assignment was aboard the USS Long Beach (CGN-9), a chapter of his life that will always be remembered with honor and gratitude.
LeAndrew was a man of many talents who took pride in working with his hands. He spent more than a decade working as a Maintenance Janitor at Kent State University before continuing his career as a Maintenance Mechanic at Gojos. A skilled handyman, craftsman, painter, and carpenter, he had a natural ability to look at something, figure out what needed to be done, and find a way to make it work. Whether repairing, building, or improving something, he brought his own skills and resourcefulness to everything he did.
LeAndrew loved music and enjoyed playing it at family gatherings. He also took pride in his music equipment and had a passion for sports cars, especially his Chevrolet Corvette and IROC. A loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he enjoyed the things that brought him happiness. Though he often enjoyed keeping to himself, he held special bonds with those closest to him, including his special auntie, Susan Lindsey, who held a cherished place in his heart.
LeAndrew’s memory will live on through his loving children: his daughters, Renea (Ricky) Grigsby, Demetria Johnson, Scharmaine (Eric) Small, and LeAndrea Wright; and his sons, Trevale Wright and LeAndrew II (Diamond) Wright. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Daron (Toyalisa) Wright, Craig Wright, Jermell Holloman, and Mandrell (Chari) Holloman; and his sisters Duwan Jones, Nichole Ford.
He was a proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special cousins, William Wade and Naomi Carmella Wade, along with a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Though LeAndrew’s life has come to an end, the memories he leaves behind will continue to live on through the people who loved him. His service to his country, his craftsmanship, his love of music and cars, and the family connections that shaped his life will remain meaningful parts of his legacy. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
