Louis Bennett Schneiderman

Jun 13, 1957 — Sep 29, 2026

Louis Bennett Schneiderman, 69, of North Palm Beach, FL passed away on September 29, 2026 after a short illness.

Lou was born in Coral Gables, FL and moved to Akron, OH as a child. He graduated from Firestone High School and studied art at the University of Akron. He then moved to West Palm Beach, FL where he began his career as an artist (painter), proudly having his first show at a local arts and crafts store.

Later on, he would move to Atlanta, GA where his work was exhibited at the city’s finest galleries. At one art opening, his solo show completely sold out within two hours. At the after-dinner celebration afterwards, Lou, when asked how he felt, shrugged and replied with his characteristic humor saying, “not bad.” In his prolific career, Lou’s work has been appreciated worldwide, with collections ranging from Saks Fifth Avenue, The Arthur Blank Foundation, Nordstroms, and several private collections of motion picture actors and producers.

Lou found beauty in scenes that covered the full breadth of the human experience. His paintings offering hope and a deeper reverence for life, for family, motherhood, and peace.

Up until recently, Lou worked at his studio in North Palm Beach where he would jokingly sum up his work as “pushing paint around.” While painting is a solitary adventure, Lou enjoyed the good company of family and friends, funny and equipped with a keen ear; those who had a conversation with Lou always had the experience of feeling “heard”.

One of Lou’s favorite activities over the past several months was hanging out with his nephew Henry, and cheering for him at various collegiate track meets. Lou is survived by his brother, Rick Schneiderman (Carolyn), and his nephew Henry Schneiderman. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Schneiderman, his mother Betty Cable, his sister Ellen Schneiderman, and brother Mark Schneiderman.

Lou leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and connection.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Crossroads Hospice and the Altercare Health team for the loving care and compassion they provided during his final days.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.
