Louise Grace Russo

Louise Grace Russo, 92, of Brecksville, Ohio (and previously Aurora, Ohio) died on August 24, 2025 peacefully in her home. She was born in 1933 in Washington DC she moved to Cleveland, Ohio at age 9 where she attended Mount Pleasant Elementary. She later graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and went on to attend cosmetology school mostly because her grandmother wanted someone who could properly assist with setting her hair. Louise's cosmetology path was short lived as she pursued a long fulfilling career in nursing. She attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio earning her degree as an RN. During her early days in nursing she worked for the Cleveland Clinic and later retired from St. Luke's Hospital.

Mrs. Russo met her husband, Charlie, thru family. She married in 1964 and started a family in East Cleveland where they stayed until moving to Cleveland Heights and later became a resident of Aurora before moving to Brecksville,

She had numerous friends and talented neighbors from all over. She enjoyed reading, attending plays and singing with her church choir. She dabbled in gardening growing basil and tomatoes and loved to tend to her flower beds growing a variety of plants and flowers. She was kind and generous with her time helping others. She so loved laughing and telling riddles and was passionate about nutrition and health related matters. She was a lifelong Christian and devoted practicing Catholic who enjoyed attending and participating in her faith as a longstanding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church..

Louise was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend known for her caring and supportive nature and unconditionally loved everyone. Her quiet strength and resolve was always an inspiration and she lived by example. Her motto: Be Kind! She was loved and will be missed dearly.

Survived by her daughter Christine Russo, son John (Cristi) Russo grandson Daniel, her sister Annette (Tony) Pizzino as well as nieces (Joanne Pizzino, Julie (Kurt) Lear, Marrianne LoCastro and Diane (Roland) Origlio. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles in addition to her parents Louise and John Sgro, sisters Josephine (Tom, deceased) LoCastro and Gracemarie (Louis) DiDomenico, nephews Anthony and Thomas LoCastro.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 342 S. Chillicothe Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202. Family and friends will gather in the church vestibule one hour prior to Mass time. One day service only; no wake. Private family interment on a later date will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, it was Louise's wish for Honorary Memorials to:
