Michael Adkins

Michael Adkins, 69, of Akron, OH passed away June 8th at Summa Health following a long battle with lung disease. He was born to Elmer Adkins and Magalene Adkins. On April 22, 1977 he married Lois Adkins (Allen). Together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Michael enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. Most of that time was spent on endless games of Yahtzee and Pictionary. He found great joy and peace in painting and playing guitar. Michael was known for his sense of humor and big heart. Michael spent many years coaching the youth in North Akron and Cuyahoga Falls; from wrestling, baseball, and football to girl's softball. He made lasting memories with countless kids.

Michael is preceded in death by his son Joshua Adkins, father Elmer Adkins, mother Magalene Adkins, brother Rickey Adkins, and sister Wanda Williams, Diana Borders and Gail Gay.

Michael is survived by his wife Lois Adkins, daughter Angel (Chris) Fryberger, and son Shawn Adkins. He is also survived by his grand children Kaitlyn (Alex) Turner, Kristy (Alex) Peace, Jersey Adkins, Wyatt Adkins; great grandson Beckett Peace; as well as siblings Mary (Larry) Hennon and Johney Adkins Michael also leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Akron Summa Health Systems that took great care of him during his stay.

Cremation services have taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Michael will be deeply missed but his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
