Michael B. Flesch, 67, passed away on April 18th, 2026, after a 4 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was surrounded by family, including his beloved dog, Sadie. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Throughout the years he was also a dedicated youth pastor, musician, reader, die-hard Browns fan and an incredibly funny, mischievous, and caring man.
He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 30 years of service. His retirement was spent swimming, bird watching, traveling, going to Browns games, and enjoying the company of his dogs with his wife Nancy.
As a father, Michael was actively involved in his children’s lives to the point that he was well known by all his children’s friends and acquaintances. If there was a van full of kids headed to do something fun like take a trip to an amusement park, he was probably the parent of the group who had volunteered to drive. Sometimes those friends along for the ride might even want to know what his perspective would be on a major life decision they were thinking about. Children soliciting advice is a true testament to the trust and wisdom he was able to provide those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Pauline (Mutka) Flesch.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy, as well as his sister Mary (Tom) Shortreed, recently acquainted sister Wanda (Stephen) Calliea; son David (Ashley) Flesch, daughter Hannah (Brandon) Pratt; grandchildren Melody, Sebastian, and Damon; nephews Adam (Sabrina), Alex & Austin.
At Michael’s request, no memorial services will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
