Mihir Shah

Mihir Bharat Shah, age 29, passed away on September 28, 2023 in Peninsula, Ohio. Mihir was born in Akron on December 22, 1993. He grew up in Hudson, Ohio and graduated from Western Reserve Academy. Early on, Mihir exhibited a love for the arts. In high school he was chosen to attend a summer program at the New York Film Academy where he directed two short films. A gifted writer, he won the Power of the Pen competition while in high school. He attended the University of Akron, but his true passion was writing and making music. One of his beats was purchased and used in an album by Linqua Franqa, and he had written hundreds more he hoped to someday share with the world. His creativity extended to the kitchen where he would often be found creating new flavor combinations and sharing them with his friends and family. Mihir loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, who affectionately nicknamed him “Meeps”. He is survived by his parents, Bharat and Dipti Shah of Hudson, Ohio, his siblings, Palak (Kristian) Wall of Hudson and Shilp (Amanda) Shah of Warren, his dear cousins especially Nirav (Jasmine) Shah, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

A private remembrance was held on September 30. The family asks that donations be made to Creative Hope Studios (https://www.creativehopestudios.com), Music Through the Streets (https://www.musicthroughthestreets.com), or any other group dedicated to the advancement of marginalized communities, in lieu of flowers.
