Nancy Ann Pittner

May 12, 1947 — Jul 6, 2026

Nancy Ann Pittner, 79, of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.

Born on May 12, 1947 in Buffalo, New York to William and Marjorie West.

Nancy married the love of her life, Karl Pittner, on June 18, 1966. They lived together in Connecticut and Illinois before settling in Stow, Ohio, where they raised their three children.

A woman of integrity, Nancy was a spirited individual who possessed a generous heart. She was kind and thoughtful, but also intelligent, witty, and bold. Mrs. Pittner was a proud educator in Stow City Schools for 22 years. She spent most of her professional career teaching 4th grade at Riverview Elementary School where she impacted countless young lives. She gave generously to her community as a volunteer Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. A woman of many talents, her famous pound cake, manicotti, and meatballs were coveted at every family gathering. In addition to her love of cooking, Nancy delighted in being active in her community through gardening, bowling, softball, golf, racquetball, and learning yoga with friends at church.

In retirement, Nancy and Karl purchased property in the mountains of Tennessee, where together with the help of their eight grandsons, they built a cabin retreat with their own hands. She loved attending Grace Church in Ellet, where she formed deep and lasting friendships. Above all, Nancy treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karl, and her oldest son, Mark. She is survived by her daughter Kari (Chris); her son, John (Vickie); brothers, Bill and David; eight grandsons; four great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
