Nancy Irene Sponseller

Nancy Irene Sponseller, 85, passed away April 14,2026.  Ms. Sponseller was a life resident of the Akron area. She graduated from Manchester High School and attended the University of Akron.

She worked at Advanced Auto Glass, specializing in marketing and public relations. Nancy was active in the Akron business community and was a member of many organizations.

In addition to being a loving daughter, sister, and mother, Nancy greatly cared about animals. For 17 years she founded and ran the Angel Arms Rescue. She sheltered and fed stray cats, and provided medical care to injured animals. Her home was filled with several beloved dogs.

Nancy is preceded in death by parents George and Beatrice Sponseller, brothers James and David Sponseller, and sister Mary Thompson.

Nancy is survived by children Melissa, Phillip and Michelle, sisters-in-law Debbie Tywon and Helen Sponseller, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11am. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
