Rita Hayward Scurry

On Monday May 27, 2024, Rita E. (Hayward) Scurry peacefully went home to the Lord at the age of 72.  She was born on June 20, 1951 in Akron, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Hayward and Glam (Diggins) Hayward; as well as her brothers Larry, Paul, and Peter.  Rita is survived by her siblings Eric (Francine), MaryAnn and Sam Jr. (Marilyn); children Yolanda (Robert), Anthony (Theresa), Tiffany (George), Jason, James, Jonathan, and Jaylinge (Rayshawn); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street in Akron).  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
