Robert Harvey Addis Jr.

Robert Harvey Addis Jr., age 60, of Akron, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. He was born on December 20, 1965, in Lorain, Ohio.

Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy of hard work, love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him forever.

A source of great pride for Robert was collaborating with his father and brother throughout his career. The Addis men have and continue to leave an enduring imprint—Robert’s masonry will stand for generations, and so will the memory of his kindness.

Robert loved classic rock and roll, football, and golf, but above all, he treasured time spent with his family. He had a way of making those around him feel valued. His sense of humor and generosity made strangers feel like friends and friends feel like family.

Robert’s tenacity and grit were present until the very end of his journey on earth. He cherished his relationship with God and used his testimony to inspire others, often using his favorite phrase, “Got to get a little God in your life.” He felt true peace in the presence of God and now rests in that peace for all eternity.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda D. Addis; his children, Rachel (Jason) Sweeney, Heather (Michael) Walter, and Julie Addis (Dan Trimpey); and his stepchildren, Christopher (Allysa) Sage and Angela (Rodney) Pritchard. He is also survived by his father, Robert Harvey Addis Sr., and his brother, David (Tracy) Addis.

He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Lucas and Kaley Walter, Jake and Ava Donovan; and step-grandchildren, Isaac and Aiden Sage, and Zane and Zoey Pritchard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie (Tennant) Addis, and his beloved late wife, Kathleen (Hudak) Addis.

A celebration of life will be held at Church of the Lakes, 5944 Fulton Dr NW, Canton, Ohio 44718, on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the service and a meal.

Immediately following, there will be an open house at the Addis family home, 757 Center Rd, New Franklin, Ohio, with swimming, fellowship, and sharing, as that is what Robert loved most.
