Robert Francis Kennedy

Robert F. Kennedy, age 93, died on September 18, 2026. Bob was born on May 3, 1933, in Detroit Michigan to Jack and Mildred Kennedy. During the Korean War, Bob served in the U.S. Army as a cook. He graduated from The University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in business administration and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company after many years as a systems analyst.

Bob will be remembered for his quick wit, love of music, and the many stories he shared with family and friends. He was an accomplished athlete who competed in the Senior Olympics, winning many state championships and medals in the javelin, discus, and sprints. He also boxed while serving in the U.S. Army. He loved sports of every kind, especially golf and football.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte. Bob leaves four children: Debra Thomas; Lori Cain (Steven); Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Michelle); and John P. Kennedy (Shari). Proudly known as "PoPo," he will be deeply missed by twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His family will remember him with love, gratitude, and appreciation for the many memories they shared together.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice physician Dr. Molly Scantling, nurses Ann and Gabriel and all the staff of 5400 and Hopalong. We are grateful for their support during this journey and for the care and compassion given to our loved one.
